Yes, Israel’s Law of Return describes Jews very leniently, as you correctly point out.
I’m sure both remembered their Jewish roots. But Yaron was a Christian. It’s unclear if Sarah intended to convert, but she regularly attended Sunday service. According to the church they were Messianic Jews.
My point is that our Judeo-Christian world is at risk with the pro-Hamas activists, not just the Jews.
There is no such thing as "Jew" - all the Jews died out after the destruction of the Second Temple. Everyone since then is just LARPing and cosplaying.
One correction: The Israeli law of return allows anyone with one Jewish grandparent to make aliyah and become a citizen. This is regardless of religion or whether they are considered Jewish by any particular denomination, including the orthodoxy. This was a result of Nazi Germany’s determination to exterminate anyone with even a single Jewish grandparent.
The Jews are not canaries, they're actually not very important in the larger scheme of things. The Holocaust was not primarily about Jews. Roma got killed at the same rate as Jews, Catholics were the exclusive victims of Auschwitz for the first 26 months of operation. 1930s Germans were at least as concerned about wiping out Slavs as Roma or Jews.
The Nazis built this huge mythic story about how Germans were descended from Aryan Indians. The Ashkenazi, whose mitochondrial DNA demonstrates 80% of Ashkenazi were descended from Europeans, have also built a huge mythic story about being mysteriously linked to the Middle East. Both stories are pure bunk.
Everyone currently living in the Middle East, Jews, Muslims, whatever, make up crap about who they are, and what they deserve, and none of it is true. They kill each other over fake stories, invented histories. It's all nonsense, bathos and power plays.

There is no such thing as "Judeo-Christian".
"Judeo-Muslim" is more accurate.
